Bringing Diversity to Smallholder Farmers in Baoshan
ICRAF-China is working closely with the Baoshan Forestry Bureau to provide farmers with the resources they need to experiment with new plant varieties. In Pingzhang Village, ICRAF-China is supporting the Forestry Bureau¡¯s efforts to provide high quality pear, walnut, and chestnut saplings. With ICRAF-China support, the Forestry Bureau has also begun participatory on-farm trials with seven different varieties of medicinal plants, which are being intercropped on SLCP-designated land.
